Our Transformational Systems
Personal Systems
When we activate the right inner state (thoughts, feelings, mindsets, and intentions) we engage in the right behaviors and actions on the outside.
Our inner state relies heavily on the personal systems we have established. Personal systems are comprised of:
Thoughts: our perspectives of ourselves and the world around us.
Values: the beliefs or principles we believe are important and wish to use to guide our priorities, decisions, and behaviors.
Habits: how the brain automates what we want to repeat. Unfortunately, our brains also encode habits for things we don’t want to repeat.
Behaviors: our responses to a particular situation or stimulus (cue).
While traditional leader development programs rely mostly on skill building, our ThoughtShift methodology teaches leaders how to shift their thoughts, refine their values, eliminate inferior habits, and reinforce positive behaviors.
Effective Personal Systems create a compass for deciding how to live our values and elevate our ability to remain curious, flexible, and calm when faced with contradictory perspectives.
Personal Systems development occurs through self-reflection and feedback received through coaching (executive, individual, group, or team) engagements or one of PatternShifts’ premier, blended leadership development programs.
People Systems
From developing our Personal Systems, we know that activating the right inner state is necessary for engaging in the right behaviors and actions on the outside. While we are unable to control the thoughts, behaviors, and actions of others, we can extend our Personal Systems to interact with others in positive, relationship-building ways.
People Systems offers opportunities to reflect, practice, and refine the way we think about and engage in one-on-one, group, and team interactions. We’ll focus on areas like trust, belonging, communication styles, navigating divergent perspectives, the power of influence, conflict resolution preferences, collaborative and innovative problem solving, performance management, developing others, and leading effective teams.
Our ThoughtShift methodology teaches leaders how to pause and choose how to respond in ways that demonstrate their own Personal Systems and respectfully embrace the Personal Systems of others.
Effective People Systems create an environment of belonging where people are treated with dignity and respect.
People Systems development is leveraged through coaching (executive, individual, group, or team) engagements or one of PatternShifts’ premier, blended leadership development programs.
Organizational Systems
Organizations are comprised of individuals with unique Personal Systems and varying approaches to People Systems. Navigating complex organizations requires a deep understanding of these dynamics and how they work to support or derail organizational systems.
An organizational strategy is derived from reflection, research, and collaborative idea generation. Strategy sets the direction for the organization and informs us of why we want to head that way, what behaviors and actions move us along the pathway, and how we will get to our destination. A three- to six-month strategic planning process is both inspiring and challenging, yet the implementation of that strategy and execution of priority-aligned tasks can seem daunting.
Outcomes from a strategy planning process may include significant change for an organization. People may be asked to reframe the organization and how they exist within it. Shifting our thoughts about our relationship to our organization and others may strain our Personal and People Systems.
PatternShifts’ approach to strategy planning includes a whole-scale process that engages all staff in creating the strategy and identifies potential changes to organizational design, culture, and leadership capabilities. We design a comprehensive program for addressing these changes while developing the leadership competencies and character needed to effectively implement the strategy and execute critical tasks.
Our ThoughtShift methodology is applied when leaders create a vision, generate alignment, and manage the execution of a strategy. It is threaded throughout a carefully crafted organizational redesign. It helps to reshape organizational culture in ways that build the trust needed to reduce our natural resistance to change.
Effective Organizational Systems form the keystone for sparking innovative ideas, propelling positive change, and enlarging the value an organization brings to the world.
Organizational Systems solutions include strategic planning, organizational design/development, cultural transformation, and effective change management. These processes are supplemented as needed with coaching (executive, individual, group, or team) engagements or PatternShifts’ premier, blended leadership development programs.
